About DataMelt
The original author of DataMelt ("DMelt") is Dr. Sergei Chekanov who has started this project in 2005 at the DESY laboratory (Germany). At that time it was called jHepWork (2005-2013), and later - SCaVis (2013-2015). He is still making decisions about the integration of the DMelt core package with 3rd party numerical libraries. He releases the community version of DMelt by incorporating free scientific packages from more than 100 Java developers around the world.DataMelt (DMelt) license
The DataMelt (DMelt) program available for free download is licensed by the GNU General Public License (GPL) v3 (or later), MPL and other open-source licenses. However, documentation libraries, online examples, installer, code assist databases, Javadoc services, language files integrated inside the DMelt IDE and web services are free only for NON-COMMERCIAL purposes (academic research, science and education), and typically are available for users with activated DMelt (the DMelt membership is required). Due to the GPL restrictions, the DMelt program available for download cannot be used in projects with closed source codes.All referred license terms warranty declaimers are copyright notices are included with the download DMelt program.

DMelt for commercial applications
In order to use DMelt Java libraries in commercial programs with the closed-source environment, you will need to receive a redesigned version of this program suitable for commercial purposes. You should become DMelt member and request the redesigned DMelt program. The business-friendly DMelt includes libraries under "permissive" licenses, such as LGPL, MIT, Apache and BSD. In addition, one can use DMelt documentation, code assists, examples etc. for commercial purpose.

3rd party licenses
Licenses for the 3rd party libraries are located in the directory jehep/licenses.jar of the installed program. We made sure that all licenses are consistent with the GNU version of DMelt. In the case of redesigned DMelt for commercial purposes, all corresponding licenses should allow the usage of DMelt for commercial applications. Documentation and examples
DMelt language files, documentation, examples, installers, code-assist databases and certain third-party libraries are subject to the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 2.0. You are free to copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt DMelt under the following conditions:
- Attribution. You must attribute the work i.e. by linking to https://datamelt.org/
- Non-commercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes. Please become a full DMelt member using member login page. After the registration, you can obtain a professional edition of DMelt suitable for commercial usage. It should be noted that the source code will remain under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
- Share Alike. If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same, similar or a compatible license
