Parameters:

offset - of the field within its byte array

Throws:

java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException - if offset is negative

writeToBytes

                  throws java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

write the value out to an array of bytes at the appropriate offset
